XP Music Conference at Riyadh

The XP Music Conference by MDLBEAST launched its activities yesterday, December 13, 2021, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event gathers some of the world’s leading music industry figures. In addition, The conference hosts 58 activations over three days at Jax, Diriyah, with the first day featuring 17 different workshops, fishbowls, keynotes, and discussion panels that aim to lay the foundation for a thriving music industry in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

XP represents diverse backgrounds with its audiences, from labels to publishers, NGOs, GOVs, and entrepreneurs. XP makes sure to bring together opportunity and networking. Moreover, the conference gathers 150 leading music industry figures from 26 countries around the world. The conference is held under four main pillars which are considered the foundation of the event. They are the building blocks for the development of the regional music industry: Talent, Scene, Policy, and Impact.

The Talent

It will be addressed through different activations, that include the opening. The opening will feature some of the best local and coming musical talents. A reaction panel by the title “How do I get into the music industry” will follow.

The Scene

It will start with an opening educational workshop that covers music copywrites. In addition, an in-depth discussion will follow covering the growth of music as a medium in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Tarek Mounir, ex-CEO of Deezer MENA, will also deliver a keynote that examines the current regional music industry and presents solutions to create a new economy for artists as well. In addition, the program includes five different discussion panels that will cover important topics such as the role music plays in positioning a city on the global map, music and film, funding artists, intellectual property, and the middle east music economy.

The Impact

Day one of XP addresses the effect of the music industry. The founding members of SheSaidSo will hold a workshop. They will talk about the importance of gender equality in the industry. Meanwhile, a panel discussion will also cover the future of creative leadership. It will highlight the commercial power of diverse leadership sitting in the top seats.
