Cairokee’s “Last Song” is One to Remember!

A great new single from our favorite Cairokee! Local band Cairokee are one of our all time favorites. They hit us once again with a great new single titled Akher Oghneya (Last Song). The song was released just last night and has already become talk of the town.

“Voicing the Egyptian youth is what they do best, and they nailed it once again with this new song”

The new single addresses a very simple, yet very pressing, topic; freedom, especially freedom of speech. Cairokee have been writing and performing music for years, but really started shining in the mainstream during the January 25th revolution in 2011. Since then, they have been Egypt’s voice of reason. Voicing the Egyptian youth is what they do best, and they nailed it once again with this new song, which was shot on an abandoned railway, with flashes of pictures depicting the many violations of freedom happening in Egypt. Those pictures can only been seen when the video is slowed down and watched frame-by-frame.

“The powerful lyrics combined with their familiar, sharp guitar, really hit a chord with Egypt’s youth.”

The powerful lyrics combined with their familiar, sharp guitar, really hit a chord with Egypt’s youth. Well done, Cairokee, no one would ever want this song to be your last.
