Things Get Hairy! 7 Embarrassing Moments during the First Year of Marriage

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been dating, getting married and actually living together is another story. The first year in particular is filled with embarrassing moments. Here are some of the most common embarrassing moments that we face in our first year of marriage.

Showing your True Colors
When you are dating it’s easier to hold in certain things, like farts and burps, but when you live with someone, this task becomes much harder. At some point that first fart will slip, it might even happen while you’re sleeping!

“At some point you start feeling very comfortable, maybe a little too comfortable.”

Period Shenanigans

Your period will come to embarrass you in many different ways, let it be a stain on the toilet seat, asking him to get you pads on your way home or the emotional train wreck you are when you’re PMSing. Your period will hunt you down!

“I said share not scare!”
At some point you start feeling very comfortable, maybe a little too comfortable. And you start sharing too much information. You might happen to share what you’ve been doing in the bathroom or talk about your period related cravings. Don’t worry, he’ll be scared, but he’ll get used to it.

Bringing out the Little Fat Girl Inside
You can only pretend for so long that you’re a cute girl with a small appetite. The day will come when you finish a big plate of food before your husband does. You’ll have him thinking “who did I marry? Didn’t she only eat salad?”

Grooming
All marriages start with smooth surfaces, not one hair in sight! Of course, you will try to maintain this, but at some point, he will walk in on you waxing your legs, or hear your silkepil machine in the bathroom.

That First Poop
You just finished your first poop and suddenly you realize you need a scented candle or scented spray to cover up your crime! If you can’t find anything, you will end up sitting there and hoping that he doesn’t use the bathroom in the next half hour.
