The 4th edition of She Arts Festival has come to a close. It was filled with creativity, culture, and connection. This year’s festival showcased an impressive array of performances, discussions, and visual arts. Artists from 9 countries, such as Germany, USA, Spain, and more, traveled to perform in Egypt. It was truly a celebration of the diverse voices of women in the arts. Here are our favorite moments that encapsulated the spirit of this extraordinary festival.
She Arts Orchestra Presenting Umm Kulthum
One of the festival’s standout performances was the She Arts Orchestra, which paid tribute to the legendary Umm Kulthum. The orchestra, composed of talented female musicians, breathed new life into Kulthum’s timeless classics. Marwa Nagy’s performance captivated the audience with her passion and skill. The atmosphere was electric, as attendees were transported to a world where music transcends time and connects generations. Yasso
Yasso took the stage with a performance that was both fun and emotional. Her performance included both English and Arabic songs. Her stage presence was magnetic. She invited the audience to take a journey with her through emotional songs. Also, she performed a lot of upbeat songs that got the audience to sing along.
Film Screening of Maksoum and Talk with Kawthar Younis and Samma Ibrahem
The festival’s film screening of Maksoum, followed by a compelling discussion with director Kawthar Younis and actress Samma Ibrahem. The discussion offered a rich exploration of storytelling through cinema. The film’s exploration of identity and belonging struck a chord with many attendees, while the ensuing dialogue shed light on the challenges and triumphs of women in film. Céline Rudolph
Céline Rudolph’s, German vocalist, composer, and poet, performance was simply amazing. Her cooperation with the Egyptian flutist Rania Omar received greatfeed back from the audience. The German artist travels between Berlin, São Paulo, Bordeaux, and New York performing.
Resilience Photo Exhibition

Dawat Al-Sahla (Sudanese Bride Dance)

“What is Today?” by Nawah Giza is a powerful performance that highlights the diverse stories of women confronting societal challenges. Through a series of narratives, the piece sheds light on the pressures women face, such as the expectation to marry and the struggles against family control. It addresses deeply personal issues, including the harrowing topic of genital mutilation, and amplifies the voices of those who have experienced profound hardship.
Nouran Abutaleb
The talented Egyptian singer, Nouran Abutaleb, performed live in an intimate concert. She showcased her unique blend of contemporary and traditional sounds. Known for her captivating voice and modern twist on classical Arabic music, this concert was truly amazing.
