“I’m lost. Can you give me directions to your heart?” might be the corniest pick-up line you could ever hear, but believe it or not, it sometimes works. When it comes to wooing an Egyptian woman cheesy pick up lines can either work or be a total disaster, and that’s what Yaya and Safi, hosts of the new online show ‘Romanceya Manseya’, have successfully proved.
Romanceya Manseya is an online show created by the content creation and production company Peace Cake. This team of young and fresh minds brilliantly handcrafts creative digital content with great passion and humor that constantly challenges the viewers.

Romanceya Manseya aims to take us back in time when romance was better expressed in words. The main concept of the show is “she laughs you win”, in order to win a woman’s heart you have to make her laugh and that’s what Yaya and Safi try to do with their corny pick-up lines.
“Most Egyptian men have a huge problem when it comes to approaching a woman, some are smooth talkers and hit it on instantly, while many don’t quite know how to give an appropriate compliment, which leaves the girl totally turned off” Yaya says. Romanceya Manseya is a new approach to add some romance with a twist of humor to a relationship, something that has been lacking for sometime. “I personally like to give my female friends compliments that make them laugh, and this is coming from a guy who shook hands with a girl for the first time when he was 17 years old” Yaya says.
“we want to continue to develop original content as much as we can, we have created in the past shows that were not that successful, but that hasn’t stopped us.”
Any new idea or project comes with consequences, especially if it’s something that calls for change “At Peace Cake we want to continue to develop original content as much as we can, we have created in the past shows that were not that successful, but that hasn’t stopped us. We are going through a trial and error phase, and this is the approach we want to take through all our content” Safi explains.
Speaking of the power of digital media, “it is still a transitional process” Safi says. “Clients in Egypt now understand the great impact of digital media and are starting to invest more in online shows and content” Yaya says.
Coming up with the perfect thing to say to a girl is not that easy, Safi and Yaya spend long hours researching to come up with the best line to win the girls’ hearts. “We hand out a form to the girl to get to know her better, the form includes her favorite movies, hobbies, interests etc. and then Safi and I spend around two days alone to write the cheesiest pick-up lines” Yaya explains. It is no surprise that hundreds of girls want to be on ‘Romanceya Manseya’, “The selection process is quite hard, we have to select a girl who is comfortable enough to be in front of a camera to guarantee a genuine and real reaction” Yaya says.
One last thing, “Eih Ya Safi Dah”.
