People we love… Peter Dinklage

A Diamond in the Rough

Dinklage was born 1969 in Morristown, New Jersey, of mixed European descent. He went to a catholic school for boys where he got his first theatrical success in the production of “Velveteen rabbit”. Dinklage has also been a vegetarian since he was 16, and supports various animal rights groups. He has even made many announcements for PETA. His breakthrough role was in the 2003 film The Station Agent. That same year he appeared in many Off-Broadway productions including one alongside Meryl Streep. In 2005 he got married to actress Erica Schmidt. After that he got many impressive roles such as Simon Bar Sinister in Underdog and Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but probably his most memorable and recognizable role is in HBO’s Game of Thrones, playing Tyrion Lannister.

Our Favorite Character

Not only our favorite Peter Dinklage character, but also everyone’s favorite character on Game of Thrones, is Tyrion Lannister. He is pretty much the smartest person on the show. He doesn’t even need dragons because his best weapon is his wit. Tyrion might be small, but he’s got his way with the ladies. Basically, it’s safe to say that anyone who watches GOT knows that Peter Dinklage is one of the best things about it.

Recognition

It comes as no surprise that Dinklage got nominated for twenty-three awards just for this character and won four awards including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.
