Kiri Kunafa Jar

A quick and easy dessert is not that far-fetched of a dream. Though it might seem like it when your sweet tooth suddenly hits and you have to improvise with whatever ingredients you find in your kitchen. You can easily satisfy your craving by getting kiri-ative!

That is why we at What Women Want… Magazine collaborated with Kiri and created the #Kiri_ativeChallenge. Our favorite foodies set each other off on deliciously creative adventures, where each foodie received a basket from us at What Women Want… Magazine and Kiri, containing ingredients which they must stick to while creating their all new recipes.

Yasmeen from @bakingandco was challenged by Mariam from @biteandbrag to create a delicious dessert to satisfy any and all Ramadan cravings. Here is the recipe she came up with.

Kiri Kunafa Jar


Kiri cheese (8 squares)

¼ kilogram kunafa

2 tbsp sugar

1.5 tbsp Lotus spread

2 tbsp Butter

2 tbsp milk


Shred your kunafa thoroughly then place in a pan on medium heat along with the butter and stir thoroughly until all kunafa is fully coated with the melted butter. Keep stirring, adding sugar as you go, until kunafa is a mouth-watering golden brown. Take off heat and set aside. In a separate bowl combine six squares of Kiri cheese, along with sugar, and milk, and mix until creamy. Add the Lotus spread and keep mixing. Once homogenous place mixture in a piping bag and add a layer of the mixture to the bottom of your jars, top with konafa, then a layer of the mixture and repeat until you reach the top of your jar. Top with blackberries.
