His rebellious edge made us fall in love with movies like ‘Wahed Sahih’, as well as testing the Arab appetite for romance in his latest movie “Hepta”.
In your opinion, how would you define manhood?
I think manhood is defined in one word: Responsibility.
How does society define manhood?
Manhood is viewed in a very superficial way in our society, linking it to the man’s money and power. This is a completely wrong description of manhood that we need to get rid of.
Are there any false concepts or notions about manhood that we inherit?
I think the word “3eib” has a huge impact on a boy’s manhood. When parents tell their son “3eib” everytime he cries or asks a question this deeply influences his character and the way he treats the women in his life later on.
Is there something you wanted to do but you were afraid of how society is going view it?
Definitely not. I don’t see shame in anything I do. I don’t let society define me.
Do you think men cry?
Why not? There is nothing wrong with crying, it is s great way to release negative energy and feel better to be able to move on.

How did your parents help you understand the meaning of manhood?
My parents raised me on many virtues and kindness was one of them. They taught me that being a man is showing mercy and kindness towards other people.
In your opinion, what does the word “Estargel” mean?
I guess the conventional definition of “Estargel” is to be the dominant figure in the relationship no matter how much harm it is going to cause. I believe that this is a totally false definition, when I think of the word “Estargel” I directly think of responsibility.
