If you’re an 80s or 90s kid, then you’ve definitely spent a big chunk of your time binge watching the worldwide loved sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
When we – friends’ fans – look back at it, we find that we have learned a lot from the six friends’ lives; friendship, loyalty, relationships, marriage, dating and so much more! Looking beyond the events and the echoing laughter of the studio audience, we’ll see that we learned the most from Monica and Chandler. For many, they are what we look up to; we aspire to have a life like theirs and their relationship is definitely a life goal.
But did you ever stop and wonder why? Well, my friend, here are 10 reasons:
- The insta-love factor is non-existent – thank the Lord!
They first met at a thanksgiving dinner and Monica’s crush on the new boy – Chandler – turned into hate. Well, you can’t blame her. He called her fat!
- Motivation
Without knowing, and with very evil intentions, Chandler was the push Monica needed to change her lifestyle into a better, healthier one. He was a motivation for her to become a better person; something they only realized years later.
- Neighbors who happened to be very close friends
Years later, they lived across the hall from each other and they became the closest of friends; to a point wheree Monica couldn’t even picture him as a boyfriend.
- Each other’s shoulder to cry and lean on
Being the best of friends, they ran to each other whenever things got too tough to handle alone. They supported each other, comforted one another and never let the other down. And by being that for one another, each found their missing half.
- Despite her OCD, he was absolutely madly in love with her
Chandler accepted Monica as she was and never asked her to change a single thing. He learned to love all her craziness and get on board with.
- She was his support system
She supported him all the way; facing his parents’ dilemma, changing his career, etc. She always accepted him and encouraged him to be better and more successful.
- The hilarious conversations
Well, you definitely know all about Chandler’s sarcasm and all-funny-mood but what is truly surprising is how glowing, funny and fun Monica becomes with him around.
- She gets him awesome gifts, and he follows the ChanChan technique in winning her over again.
Well, they made an absolutely perfect couple in that area; she perfected the art of gifts and he perfected making her fall in love with him all over again.
- They’re always the perfect hosts
Everyone wanted to hang out at Chandler and Monica’s. and don’t even get me started on Chandler helping out with the cleaning and the food making.
- They’ll make WONDERFUL parents
What I feel sad about is that we didn’t get to see them much playing parents; something I’m sure they kicked-ass doing.
