Cooking with High on Body Fat Band

We were invited at the boys of High on Bodyfat Marwan Imam and Ahmed Safi El Din to cook one of their favorite meals. The Barnyard Burger.

The Barnyard Burger

Ground beef burger with buffalo chicken bites and slices of cold turkey cuts, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh minced beef
  • Fresh boneless chicken
  • Roast turkey cold cuts
  • Toast
  • Buns
  • Flour
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Yellow cheddar cheese
  • Hot Sauce
  • Mustard with seeds
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Garlic
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Oil
  • Butter
  • Spices: Basil, mint, salt, black pepper, paprika, coriander, turmeric

Preparation Method:

Toast the white toast and chop in mixer.

Cut chicken in bite size pieces.

Combine eggs and milk in a bowl and in another bowl combine flour, the chopped bread, paprika, coriander, salt, and pepper.

Put chicken into the egg and milk mix, then into the breading mix to get a crunchy coating. Let the chicken rest in fridge for at least 15 minutes.

Put the minced meat into a bowl, add mustard,Worcestershire sauce, onions, garlic, and combine them well with the beef. Add paprika, coriander, turmeric, basil, mint, salt, black pepper, and combine well. Add one large egg and combine the meat together thoroughly until all ingredients are well mixed. Form the meat into patties, and ensure to leave a little dent in the middle so the burger rises evenly. Let the meat rest in the fridge for at least 10 minutes.

In a frying pan add a good amount of oil, and when the oil is hot drop in the chicken pieces for 6 to 7 minutes flipping them on each side until golden brown color.

Toss in the fresh mushrooms for a quick crunch.

In a small pan combine butter and a small bottle of hot sauce to make the buffalo sauce for the chicken bites.

On a grill, place the ground beef patties. Make sure to sear in the flavor by placing it on one side and then quickly flip it onto the other side until it cooks, so it results in a juicy center. Toast the buns on the grill to get some of the beef flavor.

Assemble your burger: add ketchup and mayonnaise (to taste) to the bun, add lettuce, onions, tomatoes, burger, cheddar cheese, chicken with buffalo sauce, piece of cold cut turkey, mushrooms, and enjoy!
