Grenada Trilogy

This trilogy is one of the most popular in modern Arabic literature. Radwa Ashour’s Grenada Trilogy consists of three books; Grenada, Maryama and Alraheel. The trilogy is of the historical fiction genre, which means that fictional stories take place during real historical events. The three books follow a number of main characters during the fall of Grenada in 1491. They have to deal with persecution because of their Arab heritage. They get to a point where must decide whether to leave and be safe, or stay and endure maltreatment. The fictional story brings life to the major historical event of Grenada’s fall, making it more vivid than ever.
