For the last couple of months we have been marking our calendars for lots of fashion events. Suddenly fashion became Cairene’s major interest! Although we think we are still light years away from having a superb “Fashion Industry”, still some people are working hard to achieve this.
Last weekend, Islam Ahmed the young fashion blogger who runs the infamous Vichi blog, invited us to an evening of fashion and cocktails. It was aBaroque themed celebration at The Gabriel Hotelin collaboration with Love by N and Abu Samra Photography where Cairo’s movers and shakersmingled over cocktails and canapés.
Among the invitees were several of Cairo’s Fashion scene cliqueincluding Fashion Bloggers, makeup artists, designers, models, entrepreneurs and photographers.
The celebration commenced with the guests gathering at the hotel’s relatively small yet glamorously decorated reception for champagne and live musical entertainment. A while later, guests moved into the main hall, which looked like it jumped right out of the baroque period, where they slipped into their assigned seats and started the party.
The fashion show was the highlight of the night. Beautifully designed gowns by Iman Saab, MaisonSaedi, Noureen Farah and RafikZaki Designs rocked the catwalk. Models’ hair was styled by Ahmed &Abdo and makeup by Dolly Yanni. A beautifully layered wedding gown from The Bridal Boutique wrapped up the Fashion show.
