A Chat with this Ramadan’s Fresh-Face, Salma Abu Deif

After captivating the modeling world, Salma has enthusiastically approached the film industry with 2 movies this season and 2 Ramadan TV series!

You used to present a radio show at 16, how come?

When I was young, I really wanted to be a radio presenter and so I started working at this online radio that belonged to Hameed ElSharie, I used to present a program called Hakuna Matata.

What is something that you didn’t expect before you joined the film industry?

It is one of the hardest jobs actually, even if you are sleep deprived, you have to stand in front of the camera and look fresh and energetic.

Modeling or acting?

Acting is my priority because it has a much better future. At a certain age, you are going to have to quit modeling, but with acting you can go on as long as you want.

You are a main character on Halawet ElDonya Series, how is the experience so far?

I am lucky to be working with this cast, they are all so helpful. On set, sometimes I’d forget my lines or have to repeat and they’d all be so understanding and helpful.

What food do you have to have on set?

I always order Halawa and Romi cheese sandwiches. They are actually not my favorite but they can help boost my energy.

Would you rather eat Sohour at a fancy restaurant or off a Foul Car on the street?

Fancy restaurants don’t know how to make tasty foul or Tameya, so I prefer restaurants like Gad and Shabrawy.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Yehia Elfakharani, I love him!
