The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra Debuts in Egypt with Performances at the Grand Egyptian Museum

For the first time in Egypt, the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) November 15 and 16, 2024. This landmark event is a collaboration between Egypt and the United Kingdom, facilitated by the British Embassy in Cairo and the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA).

The concerts, set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most iconic museums, promise an unforgettable experience that blends classical masterpieces with the magic of cinema. The performances will feature works by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel, as well as famous film scores from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars, offering something for all music lovers.

It reflects the deep cultural ties between Egypt and the UK, bringing together high-profile figures from both countries, including diplomats, influencers, business leaders, and renowned personalities.

In addition to the orchestra’s renowned performance, the concert will showcase two exceptional Egyptian violinists, Amira and Mariam Abouzahra. Both artists have earned international recognition, winning prestigious awards at global music competitions. Amira has won prestigious awards such as the Fritz Kreisler Prize in Vienna and the Gold Medal at the Virtuosos Competition in Hungary. Mariam, in October 2024, got the first prize at the 74th Viotti International Music Competition. Their performances will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, showcasing a powerful fusion of Egyptian and global musical traditions.
