90’s Musicians who Spread Eternal Joy!

Instead of viewing pop culture of the past in a negative light, we’ve decided to remember the musicians who have entertained us a lot during our childhood. Here are 7 musicians from the 90s we dearly miss.

Hussein El Imam

Hussein wasn’t just a musician, he was also a great actor, comedian and TV host. He was talented in so many ways whether it was playing the guitar, singing or even song-writing. He collaborated with his brother Moudy El Imam numerous times to create some of the best music (and musicals) of the 80s and 90s. Samaa’ Hoss is still one of our favorite films of all time and his musical contributions to Kaboria were epic!

Aida El Ayouby

Aida El Ayoubi

The beautiful folksy tunes of Aida El Ayouby have enchanted our generation beyond words. Kids these days might have underground bands, while we had Aida. Aida’s music influenced many artists nowadays and songs like ‘Ala Baly remain one of the most loved songs of the 90s.

Hamid El Sha’ery

While now he works more as a producer (and occasionally an actor), our generation remembers Hamid the most as his singer self. He wrote and produced some of the most upbeat songs of the 90s. His snappy sound revolutionized pop music, and we miss his songs, like Jaljily, very much.

Iman El Bahr Darwish

It comes as no surprise that the grandchild of legendary and groundbreaking musician Sayed Darwish turns out to be the amazing musician he is. It saddens us that he’s not as active as he used to be as the music he made in the 90s was absolutely brilliant. His album Tair Fel Sama is a timeless masterpiece.

Simone

Simone

Her devil may care attitude, nonchalant good looks and fun, great vocals were all trademarks that made us all fall in love with Simone. Since she decided to tell the nation that she’s “mashya w sa3ty mish mazbouta”, we all jumped on board and went for a wonderful ride of unforgettable 90s tunes. Although she’s no longer singing, we’re glad to see her making a huge comeback as an actress.

Hossam Hosny

All girls love Hossam Hosny, that’s a scientific fact. The man had a beard before it was main stream. He was the purest representation of everything 90s and we can’t get over how much we love him for it! His hit Kol Elbanat Bet7ebbak will always be one of our favorites. We’re glad he’s back to performing again!

Hanan

Hanan

The beautiful singer with larger than life hair and upbeat, high-pitched vocals charmed us all back in the 90s. Her music, either as a solo singer or with the music group Al Asdeqaa’ was very popular. Although she retired decades ago, she’s still popular and whenever Ray2a starts playing we can’t help but dance!
