Torii: Japanese charm in the heart of Zamalek

Last weekend, we visited Torii, the amazing Japanese restaurant at Cairo Marriott Hotel and we had a great dinner experience with its positive vibes and good food.

The restaurant is cozy and the service is really good. The waiters made sure to walk us through the Japanese menu and explain the exotic ingredients; they also recommended special dishes and delicious appetizers.

We started out with a one of a kind soup ‘Thai Tom Yam’, a shrimp soup with coriander and lemon grass.  It’s a great healthy and delicious option to start with but make sure you order it when you are really hungry as it fills you up real good!

After the soup, we were curious to try out the ‘Agedashinasu’, which is an eggplant tempura. It’s a zesty appetizer recommended for vegetarians and health conscious people, followed by ‘Sake Salad’, a raw salmon avocado with tempura crisps.  Also the ‘Hotate’ which is basically scallops with lemon juice and red onion was on our list and it’s so yummy!

Our couple shared two mouth-watering dishes the Taki Gyuniku ‘stir fried wheat noodles beef with Soy sauce and an original Vegetable noodles.

The restaurant also offers a great selection of sushi rolls and sashimi as well as a Tappanyaki table for fun gatherings.
