The Seed of the Soul: Navigating the Inner Realms with Deena Fadel. To stand in front of a canvas by expressionist artist and designer Deena Fadel. It is to step away from the physical world and surrender to a deeper, mystic flow. Born and raised in the UK, with years spent in Qatar before settling in Egypt at the age of 18, Fadel’s diverse background mirrors the multi-layered depth of her artwork. Her past solo exhibitions have charted an emotional and spiritual evolution, a profound journey from chaos to love.
In her latest exhibition, The Seed of the Soul, Fadel leverages mixed media to create a deeply sensory experience, inviting viewers to travel with all five senses into an entirely different realm.
Picasso Art Gallery is hosting Denna Fadel’s exhibition ” The Seed of the Soul ” until the 25th of May. Also, there is a new experience called “ A Symphony of Colors” which is a live orchestra with live painting experience by Deena on the 20th of May.
A Palette Awakened by Nature
Fadel’s artistic style has not always looked the way it does today; it has shifted dramatically in tandem with her own soul journey. Early in her career, she chose an earthy, muted palette to define her canvases
“My soul journey shifted my style in so many ways. For example, my work had a lot of browns and grey, which was like the majority of the palette,” Deena reflects.
The turning point came with a period of personal awakening that completely reshaped her relationship with the world around her. Living life at a relentless pace, she made the conscious decision to step away and completely disconnect.
“I was living my life in fast-paced mode like most of us, and I took time off, and I just immersed myself in nature without a phone or technology. What I saw shades of greens for the first time in a completely different way since that day. And greens and blues have become such a big part of my palette.”
The Universe Within: Cocooned Blossoming
This unplugged retreat fundamentally altered her perception. This is moving her focus from an external capturing of reality to an exploration of the internal world. At the heart of this exhibition are the concepts of self-search and the “inner rose”, the belief that we all carry a sacred center within us.
“We all have an inner seed inside of us,” Deena explains. “There is a spiral. It’s like you keep on getting closer and closer and closer to yourself and closer to the Creator.”
This concept is beautifully illustrated in her featured painting, where a delicate, swirling center is layered with natural elements.
“In this painting, for example, there’s this swirl and there’s this inner rose, and it’s covered in nature. It’s like a rose being cocooned. So it’s that internal blossoming that can happen regardless of what people can see; it’s an internal journey.”
When the Canvas Whispers
The Seed of the Soul: Navigating the Inner Realms with Deena Fadel. Ultimately, Deena’s shift inward is an invitation for the viewer to do the same. She believes that diving into one’s own depth reveals a connection to everything around us.
“The more you go inwards, the more you feel this entire universe.”
This philosophy is exactly what the artwork whispers to those who pause to look. When asked what her painting would say if it had the power to speak aloud, She shares a message that serves as the perfect takeaway for the soul:
“If the painting could talk, the thing I feel it would want to say most to people is… that the entire universe is inside of you.”
