Spoiled Egyptians! 6 Things Egyptians take for granted!

As hard as the lives of Egyptians are, we still have our perks and spoiled moments. Here are a few things we Egyptians take for granted and only realize their true worth when we leave Egypt!

The Infamous Sabat

This is a very simple invention that has been around Egyptian households for as long as we can remember! It’s just a basket with a rope that you dangle down from the window instead of going all the way downstairs to get something. Genius!

Delivery 24/7

You won’t really realize how much of a perk this is until you travel abroad and realize you’re on your own! Most places don’t deliver at all while the ones that do don’t stay up very late. Nothing is as fast as Egypt’s McDonalds delivery and even pharmacies deliver!

Ready to Cook Veggies

Because who has time to peel, slice and dice? Veggies are now sold ready to be cooked right away! A stroll down the vegetable aisle in the supermarket will take you halfway through your dinner preparations.

Laundry Man can also be Delivery Man

Asking your laundry guy to grab a few things from the supermarket isn’t uncommon in Egypt. Not mentioning the fact that your laundry gets picked up and delivered to your door!

Bawab is Never just a Bawab

The bawab can be your plumber, electrician, delivery man, cleaner and so much more! Job descriptions don’t really apply here. We’re eternally in our bawab’s debt.

Home Spa!

Too lazy to go get your nails done? You can easily arrange with the ladies at the hairdresser to pay you a visit at home, you could get your nails, hair or even your eyebrows done and some waxing business taken care of while you’re at it!
