Muhammad Ali, ‘The Greatest’, dies at age 74

Boxing legend and true inspiration to generations died at age 74. The respiratory illness which eventually took Ali’s life was complicated by his Parkinson’s disease.

Known for his sharp wit and how eloquently outspoken he was in athletic and non-athletic related matters, he has left a mark in history outside the ring as much as he did inside of it.

Despite his boxing career going on a four-year hiatus during his battle in court for refusing to be drafted into the army during the Vietnam War, he is still considered the greatest heavyweight boxing champion.

“In 1984, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since then he has campaigned to raise awareness about the disease”

In 1984, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since then he has campaigned to raise awareness about the disease, sometimes alongside Michael Jackson Fox, who was also diagnosed with the same disease. Parkinson’s never stopped him from being a fascinating public figure. He remained the charming, inspiring, incredibly clever, insightful and outspoken man until his final years. He’ll live on in the hearts of his many fans.
