While there is huge progress being made in the gender gap in the tech industry, many women still face significant barriers to entering and advancing in the industry. But Jessy Radwan, the CEO and Founder of Carerha, is proving that change is not only possible—it’s happening. Radwan is doing remarkable work with Carerha, particularly through the initiative, Tech Her Up. Through this initiative, she has earned her a spot as a finalist for the prestigious Most Impactful Initiative Award at the 2024 Women in Tech MENA event in Riyadh.
Empowering Women in Tech
Tech Her Up is a transformative program created by Carerha in partnership with USAID’s Business Egypt Program. The program empowers women across the region by enhancing their skills and capabilities in the rapidly evolving industry. It aims to train 1,000 women in key technology fields such as e-commerce, UI/UX design, product management, data analysis, and data science (AI). The program combines technical training, financial support, and expert guidance. Tech Her Up is designed to equip participants with the essential skills needed to excel in the tech sector.
At its core, this initiative is more than just a training program. The program offers technical training, financial support, and expert guidance. All of which are crucial for women who might otherwise be excluded due to lack of access, mentorship, or resources.
Carerha: A New Era for Women in Tech
Carerha itself stands as a pioneering force in the MENA region as the first female-focused Ed-tech platform. It is more than just a business—it’s a movement. The platform was built to give women in the region equal opportunities to succeed. Through its upskilling programs, courses, and mentorship initiatives, Carerha is closing the gender gap one woman at a time, helping to shape a future where women play an integral role in shaping the technological landscape.
Radwan’s leadership in Carerha has been instrumental in changing the narrative for women in MENA. By focusing on education, professional development, and empowering women with the skills to compete in the tech sector, Carerha is setting a new standard for what it means to support women in the workforce.
