In complete and utter defiance to human rights, and common sense, the Egyptian police arrested the satirical group “Atfaal Shaware3”. The young men were all apprehended after they made a video which mocked the government’s decisions in regards to Tiran and Sanafeer Islands.

This isn’t the first arrest of its kind. In fact, the Egyptian government has been making arbitrary arrests of the same kind for the past year; they have increased dramatically during the past month. The sad thing is that it doesn’t end at that. Those who were arrested for their political views might go on for months without trial.
A campaign was kicked off on Social Media, where people took pictures with their phone cameras with the caption “do phone cameras scare you?” and the hashtag #??????_??????_????? . The hashtag is now trending and we only hope that it works in alleviating some of the injustice befalling Egyptian creatives.
