What does it take for a person to transform from a forgotten country legend, drunk and out of luck into somebody again? Everybody knows the answer; love has always been the inspiring missing factor and the ultimate motivating force of all time.
Crazy Heart is a romantic drama movie, a simple yet emotionally resonant one, that makes you drift with its events, beautiful soundtracks and superb music even if you’re not a fan of country music. Even when you have the pause/play option you will certainly choose not to pause for any reason. Based on a storyline that is quite old and unexceptional but the sequence and harmony of the events make you wonder how such a reworked idea can be represented in such a brilliant and deep performance.
It’s the depth of performance that makes it worthy of recommendation and of winning two Oscar awards, the first (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role) for Jeff Bridge for his warm and deep performance and the second award (Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song) for “The Weary Kind” song which perfectly match the storyline.
The plot line of the movie was mentioned in the first meeting between Jeff (Bad Blake) and Maggie (Jean Craddock) which was not that obvious at that moment. However, you realize at the end of the movie that those words he told her were all what’s the movie is about “I wanna talk about how bad you make this room look. I never knew what a dump it was until you came in here.”
