”All That’s Left of You” Film Collaborates with Visualizing Palestine

All That’s Left of You film collaborates with Visualizing Palestine. The film premiered in theaters across the Arab world on January 14, followed by its release in the Arab Gulf on January 15. It earned global acclaim, winning multiple awards. It’s the shortlister for the Best International Feature Film category, representing Jordan in the 98th Academy Awards.

All That’s Left of You premiered at the Red Sea International Film Festival, winning the Silver Yusr awards for Best Film. Moreover, it screened at the Marrakech International Film Festival. Further, the director of the film, Cherien Dabis, is an Emmy nominee, and its executive producers are the international actors Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo.

All That’s Left of You Story 

All That’s Left of You follows a Palestinian family from the Nakba of 1948 through 2022, weaving their personal journey into the modern history of Palestine and the formation of Palestinian identity. The filming process took more than a year and a half in Ramallah, Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, and Greece.

The film follows a Palestinian teenager who is drawn into a West Bank protest. A violent moment that deeply affects him and his family. Then, his mother weaves together the political and emotional threads that led to that defining moment. All That’s Left of You spans over seven decades. It focuses on the highs and lows, inspiration and sadness, of a displaced family. It discusses the effects of displacements on families.

The film stars Palestinian icon, the late Mohammad Bakri, in his last acting role, Cherien Dabis, Saleh Bakri, Adam Bakri, Maria Zreik, and Mohammad Abdul Rahman. Moreover, the Cinematography is by Christopher Aoun, costumes by Zeina Soufan, and music by Amine Bouhafa.

A Collaboration with Visualizing Palestine

All That’s Left of You is collaborating with Visualizing Palestine. An organization dedicated to portraying Palestinian experiences to provoke a shift in the narrative visually. For instance, they envision a liberated future for Palestinians free from oppression. Students and people around the world use their work, which reaches audiences in more than 90 countries through social media.

Visualizing Palestine’s Iconic Infographics

A collaboration that’s been long in the making, the film incorporates a series of Visualizing Palestine’s iconic infographics. The true stories of Palestinian families who have endured ongoing displacement since El Nakba in 1948 inspire the infographics.

Global Acclaim

All That’s Left of You had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Moreover, the film received widespread critical acclaim, and it premiered in Europe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Global Awards

It also received many awards at international film festivals in the USA, Australia, and Malaysia, including Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Malaysia International Film Festival. It received eight audience awards. Among them are the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Audience Award for Best International Feature Film at the Sydney Film Festival.

Thanasis Karathanos, Cherien Dabis, Martin Hamble, and Karim Amer produced the film. In collaboration with OSN+, Qatar Media City, Medan Productions, Baird Films, National Creative Industries Group, TEN X Group, Film Clinic, and the Doha Film Institute. Additionally, the film’s executive producer is from the Red Sea Fund. The Match Factory distributes the film across the world, and Film Clinic Indie Distribution distributes it in the Arab world.
