A Popular Makeup Artist Has Just Shaved Her Face! Yay or Nay?!

When it comes to shaving faces, the general consensus is that women don’t usually do it. Huda Kattan, known online as @Hudabeauty, begs to differ. Beauty expert Huda is known for taking extreme measures, all in the name of beauty, but should shaving your face be considered a beauty tip?

When I first read the caption “Shaving your Face” and saw her picture below I automatically thought it was a prank. Thank God, it kind of was. The video shows that she doesn’t actually shave her face, since she has had her facial hair removed by laser. As a few minutes passed, I realized that there actually might be a few benefits to it. She mentions some, but I disagree with her claim that it’s good for scars; what if you cut yourself shaving? The risk is not worth taking while exfoliation and laser treatment give excellent results.

“Since shaving gives a clean look (at first) and is fast, this makes it a go-to option, but imagine doing that on your cheek!”

Here is when I believe it is acceptable to use a razor: when you are going to use it along the hairline. This is because when the hair grows back thick and inconsistent (as it usually does when you use a razor) it won’t really show. Since shaving gives a clean look (at first) and is fast, this makes it a go-to option, but imagine doing that on your cheek!

I would recommend shaving your sideburns only if it’s causing discomfort and threading or bleaching aren’t valid options due allergies or breakouts.

“The hair growth differs and doesn’t look as soft as natural hair does”

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it on either myself nor clients. The hair growth differs and doesn’t look as soft as natural hair does, and speaking of sanitation, it’s not the cleanest. Just don’t shave your faces.
