The documentary The Brink of Dreams, directed by Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, will be competing in the Documentary Feature Competition. This film won the prestigious Golden Eye Documentary Prize at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. This prize marks a historic moment as it is the first Egyptian film to receive this esteemed honor.

In the Narrative Feature Competition, Jaylan Auf’s “The Inevitable Journey to Find a Wedding Dress” will have its world premiere. This film delves into the life of Warda. She is a bride whose in search for the perfect wedding dress on the eve of her ceremony. Her wedding dress shopping turns into a journey of self-discovery and reevaluation of her relationship with Cairo.
Director Jaylan Auf describes the film’s creation as a rollercoaster, noting, “The journey of making this film has been as tumultuous as Warda’s quest for her dress. We are delighted that its world premiere will be at the El Gouna Film Festival, a place where the magic of our story can truly unfold.”
