Amidst many dead-serious dramas, Nelly and Sherihan provides a much-needed comic relief! It’s fun, witty and light – perfect to wind down after a long exhausting day of work and fasting. Here are our 6 favorite moments from Nelly and Sherihan.
Fighting at the Police Station
Watching Nelly and Sherihan bicker at the police station, especially with Sherihan in that godawful orange costume – and by orange, we mean the actual fruit, not the color – was absolutely hilarious. In the face of a “strict” police officer who won’t be pushed around, Nelly makes a few phone calls to get out of the mess she’s in.

“Say you’re sorry!”
Sherihan is a tough cookie; she’s stubborn and holds her dignity above all. Her dignity comes first to the extent that when she beats up other people, she expects apologies in return.

Batta’s Alzheimer
Granny Batta might be one of the most adorable characters in Nelly and Sherihan. We sometimes worry about her roommate Yvonne, though. Due to Batta’s Alzheimer’s, she gives Yvonne her medication every few minutes. All’s good though, since the doctors knew about it and replaced Yvonne’s medication with M&M’s!

Arabic Lessons
One of our favorite scenes is when Nelly attempts to learn Arabic. She runs into the typical issues of not being able to tell the difference between qaf and kaf, and whether “haza” is spelled with a zeh or a zad. When in doubt, learn from Nelly, create new letters and seamlessly add them to the alphabet. Regular letters are for the faint-hearted.

Meditation
We all have that one friend who every now and then decides to follow a new “healthier” lifestyle. In attempt to stay youthful, and have eternally “glowing” skin, Nelly adopts meditation through what she calls “Laughter Yoga”. Sherihan is horrified one night when Nelly starts laughing like a maniac.

Car-aoke!
No woman has never experienced upsetting a man by “performing” along to her favorite songs in the car. In this scene Nelly sings along, very passionately, to pop music until Moustafa snaps.
