Mashrou3 Hagar is a dynamic artistic program co-funded by the European Union and Darb 1718. The project aims at fostering the emergence of the post January 25 generation of visual artists by providing means and expertise to enhance their freedom of expression on Egyptian women’s’ issues. The outcome of these discussions and training workshops is art productions by the selected Egyptian artists that will exhibit their work in three geographic locations from the North to the South of Egypt (Alexandria, Suhag and Cairo) from November 2012 to February 2013. The project mainly focused on young artists who would benefit from technical training in the arts to best express their message through the privileged media of the revolution, i.e. video art, photography, graphic design and street art.
