Lee Daniels is no stranger to making movies that are touching not only because of the harsh reality they portray, but also because of the beautiful humanity that still shines through despite this harsh reality. The Butler follows the story of Cecil Gaines, an African American butler in the White House who serves eight different presidents. The historic changes that take place during this period take effect on him as well. Forest Whitaker already has one Oscar under his belt and we would not be surprised if his performance in this film won him at least another nomination.
