Miss Germany camp took place in Egypt this year! More specifically, it took place at Kempinski Soma Bay. The lovely young ladies were treated to a nice event that mimicked what will take place in the real Miss Germany contest.
We were invited to witness the exciting event, and spent 3 days at Kempinski Soma Bay, experiencing the Miss Soma Bay fun! The nice weather and pampering treatment there were a much needed break from Cairo.
On the first day, we got to mingle with the beautiful Miss Germany contestants. We got to know them and their hopes in regards to the contest. The Miss Soma Bay event itself was all glamour and fun. First of all, the audience was delighted by Shady Sheha’s performance. Shady, whose story is now well known as the first Egyptian to participate in The Voice Germany, gave a wonderful, entertaining performance.
Then came the Miss Germany contestants. They strutted down the catwalk a couple of times. First, they modeled in gowns, and then swimsuits. The event did not stop until one lucky young lady was chosen to be Miss Soma Bay.
The ladies got a lot of training for the big contest in Germany on that event. They were accompanied by photographers even as they took bicycle rides in sunny Red Sea weather. It was a great fun to watch the magic behind beauty pageants and all the preparation those girls go through.
Last but definitely not least, Mister Germany was present at the crowning of Miss Soma Bay, something which we were positive inspired the young ladies. Since Mister Germany had gone through his own pageant and succeeded before.
We went to Soma Bay’s Kite House heaven where the kite surfers meet. We had an amazing BBQ experience watching surfers play on the beach. That’s definitely will be on our next bucket list this summer! Learning to surf! We met with Stephan the General Manager who told us that women want non other than freedom and relaxation. Absolutely!
We were also pampered at Des Cascades Hotel heavenly spa! We tried their full body massage that melted our piled up physical stress away. Carmen their magician masseuse pinpointed our stress zones and chopped them off in 30 minutes!
All in all, the experience was well worth the trip. We enjoyed everything, from our comfortable stay, to the luxurious pampering, to witnessing the work that goes into a successful beauty pageant.
