Poe’s Children

Horror literature was looked-down upon for years. Many have openly criticized the genre for being too juvenile while completely disregarding that some of the world’s most influential writers came up with great horror tales. A man like Edgar Allen Poe changed the way poetry, short stories and horror tales were told and until now his writings are celebrated as some of the world’s best modern literature. Peter Straub decided to remind the world of this fact; that all those who followed in Poe’s footsteps, creating works of art that belonged to the horror genre should not be underestimated because at the end of the day, they are all Poe’s children. This book is a collection of short stories contributed by the world’s best horror novelists. And although not all of them are tales of the supernatural, they all manage to brush a layer of gooseflesh on the readers’ arms.
