7 Days Releases Catastrophically Insensitive New Cover

It happens sometimes, especially with media outlets and occasionally politicians, that an attempt to be sensitive could result in a disastrously insensitive gesture. This was the case with 7 Days’ new cover made in the memory of the lives lost on the EgyptAir flight.

The cover features a flight attendant, walking into the sea with her heels nonchalantly flung over her shoulders (and also dragging a suitcase, which makes no sense, because if you’re worried about your heels wouldn’t you worry about your suitcase?) We’re still torn on what this cover is supposed to symbolize.

“Is the flight attendant supposed to represent the poor young ladies who lost their lives in the crash? Because that’s not the nicest thing to show their families”

We didn’t get to the most ridiculous part yet. In the distance, you can see an EgyptAir aircraft crashing into the sea! Nothing has ever made less sense than this. The tagline next to her says “Life Goes On” in Arabic.

We’re still torn on what this cover is supposed to symbolize. Is the flight attendant supposed to represent the poor young ladies who lost their lives in the crash? Because that’s not the nicest thing to show their families, their daughters whose flight just crashed at sea represented walking into the water with a plane crashing into it. Is she supposed to represent the collective cabin crew of EgyptAir because that just sounds like 7 Days is jinxing them. Please help us out here.

We understand that 7 Days did this with the best of intentions, and with this one exception, we enjoy their work very much, but they may have slipped up here.
